The Utah Jazz had one goal before game 2: spoiling Kobe's MVP ceremony and evening the series at one game apiece. Kobe received the trophy from David Stern before the game. Then he took a microphone and addressed the Staples Center sellout crowd who were chanting "MVP" "MVP" more louder than ever. "We will play until June, now let's get this party started", he said.

Kobe certainly looked to keep his promise, scoring 34pts on 11 of 18 shooting, after his 38pt outburst in game 1. He added 8rbds & 6asts and lead the Lakers to a 120-110 triomph over the Jazz in game 2 of the Western Conference semi-finals.

Trailing 13-12, L.A went on a 13-0 run to take the lead for good. Fisher was once again a key in the victory, scoring 22pts with 4 of 5 beyond the arc. Gasol added 20pts & Odom recorded a monster double double with 19pts & 16rbds.

That was L.A 10 straight win - the Lakers won the last four games of the regular season and are still undefeated in the postseason (6-0). On 211 teams that went 2-0 in a best of seven series, 198 have advanced. Lakers coach Phil Jackson owns a 39-0 record when his team has won the series opening game.
