Deja vu? Bynum serious injury may hurt L.A record badly
After last year surprising start, L.A 26-13 record started to decrease significantly - because of various injuries of key players like Odom, Walton & Kwame Brown. After winning his 6th straight game and finding itself with 14 games above the 50% mark - both higher total since 2004- the Lakers future is no longer as bright as it should be.
Andrew Bynum is going to miss 8 weeks. The impressive young center injured his knee in last night win vs Memphis.
Bynum has been by far the big reason of L.A tremendous start. Only one game away of having the best record in the West, the Lakers will face five contenders soon, before playing nine straight road games. So it will be tough for L.A to keep their recent winning pace (last night was the 16th victory in the last 19 games).
Kwame Brown & Ronny Turiaf will have to carry the load inside. Bynum owns the NBA best field goal percentage with more than 66%. He's the league 9th shot blocker and 11th rebounder.
Regarding Kobe, I won't be surprise if #24 dazzles us with some 50pt games in the upcoming weeks just to keep his team in the playoffs race. Bynum should come back in march - only one month before playoffs time. Until then, it should be a tough road for the Lakers.
