Playing together for the 1st time on the since the 2004 NBA Finals, Kobe & Shaq put on a show and just like the old days, they won again.

Kobe scored a game high 27pts and Shaq added 17pts in only 11 minutes as both shared the all star MVP honors while leading the West to a 146-119 win over the East.

They joined Bob Pettit, Oscar Robertson & Michael Jordan as the only players to capture the all star MVP award three times.

The East started quickly, while the West missed nine of its first 11 shots and trailed 20-10 when P.Jackson called timeout and inserted O'Neal with 5:44 remaining in the first quarter. The West scored the next 11 points with Shaq and Kobe on the floor, part of a 19-0 run that made it 27-20.

O'Neal returned midway through the third quarter with the West already ahead by double digits. Bryant set him up for a layup, then fed him for a dunk.

Shaq: "It felt like old times. I miss those times. He was really looking for me, especially when we went to a pick-and-roll and they had Rashard Lewis on me."

P.Jackson: "I think it is a great life lesson for people. This is something that the people work together, people find a way to get through situations, find harmony in their life, find cohabitation."

M.Brown: "I tell you what, those two guys together, that's a deadly combination as we all saw tonight and we have all seen in the past."

L.James: "It was fun to see them compete like they did tonight."

Kobe reacted with less enthusiasm though: " Whe had fun. We are not going to go back to the room and watch 'Steel Magnolias' or something like that, you know what I'm saying, crying, all that stuff. We had a good time. That's all."

However the Kobe-Shaq reunion was successful and "the Big Legendaries" added another chapter to their story.

Notes: Lebron led the East with 20pts...Both teams combined for 78pts in the 2nd quarter...The West outscored the East by 22 in the 2nd half...O'Neal won MVP despite playing 11 minutes...The last time one all star team lead by as many as 27 was in 1995 in Phoenix...
